Our next field trip is scheduled for February 21st to the Houston Zoo.  The zoo is sponsoring a 'Photo Day' where they will open early (8:00AM), have a free breakfast and a noted wildlife photographer.   

This is a great opportunity to get an earlier start on the light.   Remember the zoo is a 'photo rich' environment with crowds of people, vendors, architecture and energy.  For more info on the program, here is a link to their website http://www.houstonzoo.org/photographyday/.

The only hitch is it is a paid event; $20 for non zoo members and $12 for zoo members.  I will inquire about group tickets so please let me know as soon as possible if you plan to attend.  Don't miss this one (my first to coordinate) where photographers will actually be welcome!
